In an effort to capitalize on federal construction project opportunities, LIUNA and our NJ LECET labor-management fund have found attending federal agency-sponsored “Industry Days” a worthwhile and potentially beneficial endeavor. Through Industry Days, contractors and labor can gain information from and connect and build relationships with decision makers for federal projects.
For some of you, this is not news. You already participate in Industry Days offered by the Army Corps of Engineers or other agencies. For those not aware, to follow is project information and a link to an upcoming project Industry Day that may be of interest to you.

What is the Industry Day for?
In the coming months, the Veterans Administration will be issuing a series of multiple Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC)-type contracts to provide construction services enterprise wide. The purpose of these contracts is to create three regional pools of at least 10 (but potentially many more) pre-qualified contractors to undertake up to $7.5 billion in construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair work at VA facilities throughout the country over the next 5 years. All of the jurisdictions within LIUNA's Eastern Region (NJ/NY/DE/PR) fall into the VA's Pool 1 (Eastern Region).
What will happen at this September 4th Meeting?
The VA is holding a "Virtual Industry Day" online information session about this upcoming solicitation at 1 p.m. on September 4, 2025, to provide contractors with information about the upcoming solicitation and how to qualify and apply to be made part of the pool.
